Measurements Matter

Once you have chosen a frame and lenses, the process becomes even more precise.

Your prescription needs to be positioned correctly in front of your eyes.

Depending on the type of lenses being made, measurements may include your pupillary distance, seg height, individual eye position, frame position, and other factors.

Progressive lenses make these measurements particularly important because different areas of the lens are designed for different viewing distances.

Before taking critical measurements, the frame itself should fit correctly.

We look at how it sits on your bridge, where your eyes are positioned, how the temples fit, and whether adjustments should be made.

It is one of those parts of making glasses that is crucial and most people are never aware of.

Your Glasses Should Be Fitted to You

When your glasses are finished, our job isn't over.

The final fitting matters.

Your glasses should sit comfortably and securely. They shouldn't constantly slide down your nose. They shouldn't pinch behind your ears. One side shouldn't sit noticeably higher than the other.

We can adjust the temples, nose pads, frame position, tilt, and alignment to help your glasses sit where they were intended to sit.

This is particularly important with progressive lenses because changing the position of the frame by even a millimeter can change how you see out of your lenses. 

And We're Still Here After You Leave

This may be one of the biggest differences between simply buying glasses and having a trusted optical practice.
