Every summer, thousands of visitors come to Ocean City, Maryland for the beach, the boardwalk, and the water. And every summer, some of them lose their glasses, in the surf, on the sand, or somewhere between the hotel and the pier.
When that happens, most people assume they're stuck squinting for the rest of their trip. What they don't know is that An Optical Galleria is right here in Ocean City, with an on-site optical laboratory that can replace prescription glasses the same day, sometimes in less than an hour, depending on your prescription.
An On-Site Lab Changes Everything
Most eyewear retailers don't make lenses on location. They take your order, send it to a lab, and ask you to wait a week or more. That's fine when you're at home. It's not fine when you're on vacation and need to see.
An Optical Galleria has a fully equipped optical laboratory right inside our Ocean City location. Our experienced opticians craft many prescription lenses on-site, which means we can turn around same-day glasses for many prescriptions when your lenses are in stock and your prescription is current.
What You Need for Same-Day Glasses
Getting same-day glasses is straightforward. Here's what helps:
- A current prescription, ideally within the last one to two years. If you have it saved on your phone, in your email, or can call your regular eye doctor to have it sent over, we can get started right away.
- Your frames, or choose new ones. If your glasses broke but your frames are still in good shape, bring them in. We can often put new lenses into your existing frames. If you need new frames, we carry a large selection of quality eyewear you can choose from on the spot.
- A quick conversation with our team. We'll confirm your prescription, check lens availability, and give you an honest timeline before we start.
Walk-Ins Are Always Welcome
You don't need an appointment. Walk in any time during business hours and our team will assess your situation immediately. We understand that losing your glasses on vacation is stressful, and we treat it with the urgency it deserves.
Over the years, we've helped countless visitors get back to enjoying their trip without missing a day. Families, solo travelers, fishermen, retirees, if you need glasses and you need them fast, we're the place Ocean City locals and visitors have trusted for decades.
What If My Prescription Is Expired?
If your prescription is more than two years old or you don't have it with you, call us at 410-390-3924 and we'll let you know your options. In some cases, we can arrange an eye exam with our optometrist to get you a current prescription the same day.
Bring Your Frames In, Even If They're Bent
Glasses don't always get lost. Sometimes they get sat on, stepped on, or knocked off a boat. If your frames are bent or damaged but still structurally sound, our opticians can often adjust or repair them while you wait. Minor repairs like nose pad replacements, screw tightening, and frame adjustments are done on the spot at no charge.
